RELEASE 6-17-2020 @ 4:30AM PDT - PC Pay Security Improvements

Party Center Software Release Notes 5.2

Security Improvements

We have updated the security protocols related to Party Center Pay Ecommerce payments. This is a preemptive move on our part in light of several new methods hackers have been using in attempts to compromise web pages similar to ours.

There will be no change to any pages used by you or the facility staff.

The only difference your guests will experience is the requirement to check a box before entering their credit card information online. This box will display when paying for a party through either the Online Booking page or the Secure Payment Link page, or when paying for a purchase through the Online Store:

After checking the box, the credit card information page will load and the guest will be able to make their payment:

If Google's reCAPTCHA service suspects that there may be an attempt to breach the page security, the guest may be required to pass a simple test to prove that they are not attempting to use the page in a malicious way. These tests consist of picking out photographs that contain a keyword, such as "car" or "streetlight." They take no more than a few seconds to complete.

The result will be a more secure payment page for you and your guests.

Minor Bug Fixes and Enhancements

This release also contains several bug fixes that are not customer-facing:

  • DEV-2332 - Query Performance - Remove CLR Functions from WHERE clauses
  • DEV-2901 - Unlinked Refunds Errors on White Space
  • DEV-2978 - CLR function to convert dates
