According to 2021’s average revenue for both in-house and online bookings, it’s safe to say that the family entertainment industry has bounced back post-2020 and isn’t far from reaching pre-pandemic profitability.

In many cases, 2021 was an incredibly successful year for family entertainment centers. According to our data, 29.7% of Party Center Software customers had a record-breaking year in 2021.

Some facilities have also decided to reinvent their party packages and focus on value-adds in order to increase their prices. This activity has also contributed to 2021’s increase in average party booking revenue.

Online store activity in 2021 nearly matched pre-pandemic numbers and in some cases, such as in Q3, even exceeded them.

While the pandemic did impact 2020’s numbers, our online store showed the largest percentage increase of 148% between Q3 and Q4 of 2020. Many facilities pivoted to focusing on growing their online store as a steady source of revenue by offering “take-home” craft kits, food delivery, virtual events, and more.

In 2021, facilities continued to maximize their use of the PCS online store and generated a lot of revenue, especially around Q3 & Q4.

Point-of-sale activity in 2021 grew tremendously and far exceeded 2019’s numbers.

This is largely due to customers choosing to visit facilities as soon as restrictions were lifted.
