1. Create an intriguing subject line

The very first thing your customers will see is the subject line. It’s important to remember that your customer receives hundreds of promotional emails daily. The subject line is what will help you stand out from all that noise!

Great subject lines are compelling. You might want to create a sense of urgency by suggesting that the deal won’t last forever, or that it’s a limited-time offer. Action-oriented verbs really help. And, you also want to make sure that you keep things short and sweet. Don’t say “Check out our party packages & book today.” Shorten this to something like “Birthday Coming Up? Book Today!”, for example.

Many find success in asking compelling questions as the subject line. For instance, you could say “Are you ready to party?” or “Was your last party a snore? We can help with that!”

Don’t be afraid to use emojis, too. But be careful with adding too many exclamation points or using ALL CAPS.

2. Personalize your email

Personalization is an effective way to get your emails opened.

Personalization tokens, such as adding your customer's name to the email or subject line, really do make a difference. People recognize their name and will want to see what the email is about!

You’ll also want to make sure that you segment your lists properly so that each group of people gets the right email. You wouldn’t want to cause confusion by sending the same party package email to folks that already signed up, for example.

Lastly, you may want to consider sending your emails from a familiar sender's name. For example, folks may be more inclined to open an email from sally@partyhouse.com rather than info@partyhouse.com or a “no reply to” email.

3. Use powerful language

Motivating your customers to open and click is also all about the type of language you use. Action-oriented verbs are the way to go.

Put yourself in the customer’s shoes, too. They want to hear how you’ll benefit them or take a specific pain away.

For example, you could say something like: “Hey there, Friday night is coming up and the last thing you want to do is plan, cook dinner, and clean up. Why not come by and let us take care of this for you? With our great food options and fun attractions, you can relax & enjoy while the kids have a blast!”

4. Keep things simple

Keep paragraphs short, as in up to 3 sentences. Shorter copy is less likely to get cut off and is more likely to entice the reader.

You need to have a clear purpose for each and every email. Shoving too much information in will work to your detriment.

Keeps things focused and concise!

5. Add calls-to-action

You need to have some sort of call-to-action in every email. Emails are all about sharing information and compelling the customer to take action!

For example, if the call-to-action is your party booking link, consider adding it in a few different spots.

You can link it within the text as well as within any graphic or image you add to the email itself.
